阿 咧 A-Lei
阿咧本名葉信泓,1976年出生於台灣 高雄,畢業於國立台灣藝術大學美術系國畫組。
自喻為「旁觀者」,“阿咧”源自日文”あれ”(那個是),他旁觀的是生活周遭親自經歷的一切。擅長以這些稍縱即逝、卻又無處不在的生活即景,作為靈光閃現的切入點,再以自身的感觸和無邊際的奇想,發展出自己的圖像宇宙。
其作品最獨特之處,在其造型和情緒層面的強烈 “表現力”, 這種力量溯源於二,一是自童年開始對於動漫、機器人和玩具的熱愛,賦予阿咧的作品各自展現截然不同的角色獨立性、和情節故事性。其次,受到奧地利表現主義畫家席勒(Egon Schiele, 1890 ~ 1918)作品中充滿神經質、壓迫感、和奇特扭曲的畫作視角等風格影響,也讓阿咧作品中的角色姿態和情感充滿張力。動漫和席勒,看似截然矛盾,卻都是挑動他情緒的觸媒。

幽默、樂觀的阿咧,畢業後因插畫收入無法溫飽而變得消沈,掙扎於他的創作生涯。
「編輯朋友那時說我的插畫作品看起來很哀傷,這提醒了負面情緒並不是我想要傳達的意象;再者,我在社區大學學做陶土時,曾做了一隻很醜的怪獸,讓班上阿姨覺得太醜了而笑到流眼淚。」這深深影響著阿咧,他理解到作品所產生的能量,自此以幽默形塑在每個 角色中。
2019他的『宇宙常遇』水墨展更顛覆他自己所學的傳統水墨 ,成功的將他的宇宙怪獸和世界以新的水墨語彙來表現,展出作品包含10公尺長卷全數售出,他的水墨和雕塑互為相融,水墨作品卻因著立體雕塑的3D思維,讓平面超越了時空限制,常見作品中的怪獸或交疊或透明或巨大,雖感於不同空間的共存,卻有著絲息牽引的互動。

"阿咧" (A-Lei) is derived from the Japanese word "あれ" (are), and he uses this distinctive nickname to describe himself as an "observer."He observes everything he personally experiences in his surroundings. A-Lei excels at capturing these fleeting yet ubiquitous moments of daily life, using them as sparks of inspiration to develop his own universe of imagery through his feelings and boundless imagination.The most unique aspect of A-Lei's work lies in its strong "expressiveness" in both form and emotion. This strength stems from two main sources. First, his childhood love for anime, robots, and toys endows each of A-Lei's works with distinct characters and narrative elements. Secondly, the influence of Austrian expressionist painter Egon Schiele (1890-1918) is evident in his art, marked by Schiele's neurotic, oppressive, and uniquely distorted perspectives.
These elements imbue his characters with tension and emotion. Though anime and Schiele may seem contradictory, they both serve as catalysts for his emotional expression.Humorous and optimistic, A-Lei experienced a period of depression after graduation due to his illustration income being insufficient to make ends meet, causing him to struggle in his creative career. During that time, he made a very ugly monster, which made an older lady laugh until she cried because of its hideousness. This incident had a profound impact on A-Lei, making him realize the power of his work. Since then, A-Lei has shifted from creating dark-themed works to infusing humor into each of his characters.A-Lei majored in ink painting in college but started creating three-dimensional works because of his love for toys.
During his university years, he constantly envisioned and drew a plethora of bizarre creatures, filling over 50 sketchbooks to date. In 2019, he successfully overturned his traditional ink painting training by expressing his cosmic monsters through a new ink painting vocabulary. His works feature multidimensional thinking, often depicting monsters that overlap, appear translucent, or are gigantic, coexisting in different spaces and interacting with a delicate, intertwined connection.In 2018, to create larger monster works, A-Lei transitioned from ceramics to bronze sculpture. The characteristics of bronze allowed him to achieve a more nuanced balance in his works, leading to a significant breakthrough in their development. A-Lei continuously challenges himself, evolving from single pieces to interactive series of works, mastering the expressions and postures to reflect the outer peculiar vividness and inner humorous warmth of his creations.
